got you with that hook. when it comes to skincare + makeup i’ve always gone back to the same things over and over. i like trying everything, but tend to stick loyal to my favorites. the beauty industry is totally overly-saturated; and i’m a guilty consumer to the cool trends at times. for me though, i think simple is just most beautiful. aging naturally. lines, hyperpigmentation, and imperfections. i love when i see someone have a random and unexpected beauty quirk whether it’s their features or their makeup- i’m drawn into appearances that stray and are idividualÃst.
anyway, here are some products that i love, use consistently in my routine, and have been staples for me for years; one thing about me is you won’t catch me recommending or promoting a product that i do not actually use or love. i will also note that skin health starts from the inside. i have a lot of weird health habits i stick to that contribute to my skin- but we can talk about those later.
skin:
biologique recherche lotion p50: if there is anything you do actually need in your skincare routine, this is it. i have used this for almost a decade. biologique recherche is next level when it comes to the game. their placenta serum is my next purchase, i think i’ll eventually move my routine to strictly biologique recherche products.
embryolisse lait creme concentre: the holy grail of moisturizers / primers. i found this in paris circa 2016. classic. chic staple.
weleda skinfood: also a decade + staple. when i feel like i’ve fatigued my skin i always resort back to this for comfort.
medicube pdrn peptide serum and the capsule cream: salmon sperm. yes. we’re doing that. these are recent additions to my routine, i’m sure you’ve seen them all over social media. i’ve been using both of these for a few weeks and have noticed a difference in the bounciness of my skin- will update.
i’m from rice sheet masks: you see a lot of praise online for the overnight wrap masks, which i agree are really great (does nobody else wake up in the middle of the night panicking and thinking their face is plastic wrapped and they’re dying? no? just me? ok.) anyways, these milky rice masks really do it for me.
higher dose red light mask: my sister got this for me when i first started going through my divorce and my skin was ridiculous. i genuinely could not live without it. worth the investment and all the hype that surrounds it.
sunscreens: i’ve tried them all. serious. i do think korean skincare takes the crown when it comes to sunscreens. this instree sun gel is my favorite. i’ve also used the tinted elta md for a decade on and off and it has never disappointed.
my wishlist purchases that i have not yet made but want to:
insane hype around dr. diamond’s metacine instafacial plasma: i’m dying to try this. my wallet though ehh.. she’s getting there.
some line: they use your own PRP (platelet rich plasma) and formulate it into a serum.
medicube age-r booster device: i’ve seen and read so much, would love to add to my routine.
makeup:
when it comes to makeup you’ve likely seen me doing my little routine. literally the same 3 dots of concealer, dewy blush and a lipliner. that’s really it for me, unless i feel like doing something fun for a night out with my sisters, or some mascara once in a blue moon to go to a lil comedy show. ;)
kosas concealer: i really do love everything about this.
saie: saie has never let me down. i use their sculpt highlighting blush, dew cream blush, and dewy illuminator religiously.
makeup forever lip liner: this is everything.
best brushes in the world: hourglass.
want to try:
dior eyeshadow palette: i just think this is so cute.
i’m intrigued by westman atelier: i want to try everything but also can’t tell if i’m just drawn to the branding.
that’s all, for now.
